A. B. Anderson Died at Roland
Had been a sufferer for many years--leaves a large family
Special to the JournalRoland, April 6 --- Andrew B. Anderson, 72 long-time resident of this community, died at his home here Tuesday evening of complications from which he had been a sufferer for some time.
A native of Norway, Europe, Mr. Anderson was 72 years and 9 months of age. He came with his parents to America when a lad of 11 years and was raised to young manhood on a farm south of here.
After attaining his majority he was united in marriage to Julia Thompson who bore him ten children, nine of whom survive him. the wife died in 1908 and he was later married again the second time.
Besides the second wife he is survived by five sons and four daughters. They are Ove Anderson of Forest City, Oscar, Amos and Clarence all of near Nevada, Irwin W., of Roland, Mrs Richard Anderson of near Nevada, Mrs. N. M. Farland of Manly, Mrs. Carl Johnson of Thompson and Mrs. Wesley Springer of McCallsburg.
He also leaves 9 brothers and sisters, they being john of Story City, J. T. of Nevada, Ole B., M. O., and O. O. of Roland, Mrs. O. M. Rierson of Roland, Mrs. John Egenes of Renwick and Ellen and Nellie Anderson of Minneapolis.
Mr. Anderson had located on a farm over in the northeast corner of Richland township when married and there he continued to live until 12 years ago when he retired and moved into Roland.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at Bergen church, Roland, in charge of his pastor, Rev. Sumstadt. This will be predceeded by a prayer service at the home at 1:30.
