DES MOINES LADY LAID TO REST

Young Lady Passes Away at Milford Home After Suffering with Cancer for Several Months.

Miss Anna Vespestad died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gjerde last Friday, after having been a patient sufferer from that dreaded disease, cancer. Funeral services were held from Salem church on Monday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. Edward Duea of Slater. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery.

Anna Vespestad was born in Norway, Europe, December 8, 1881, were she grew to womanhood. She came to this country in 1903 and made her home at Slater for some time, after which she went to Des Moines and was there until taken sick. An operation was performed in the hopes of saving her life, but the ravages of he disease had been too great and the end came to her on Friday, April 14th, passing into the Great Beyond at the age of 40 years, 4 months and 6 days. She leaves a brother Lars Vespestad, and four sisters, Mrs. Ed Gjerde of this place, and the others living in Noray.
