Funeral Services at Radcliffe for Mrs. Julia Teig

Radcliffe, July 30 -- Funeral services were held at the auditorium Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Julia Tieg, who passed away on Monday evening, July 23 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ira Larson in Hubbard. Mrs. Tieg has been in failing health for several years and was bedfast since January, following a stroke. She was born in Lee county, Ill., Oct. 18, 1876, and came to Iowa in 1880, and since that time had made her home in Radcliffe and vicinity. On Oct. 8, 1896, she was married to Carl Tieg. They were the parents of 12 children. Mr. Tieg and one child preceded her in death. Surviving are the following children: Amos of Omaha, Nebr.; Silas of Chicago, Ill.; Otis of Highmore, S. D.; Mrs. Harold Niblo of Adel; Mervin of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Mrs. Ira Larson and Mrs. Harold Lage of Hubbard; Mrs. Roy Klug, Mrs. Wallace Berndt, Nels and Clarence of Radcliffe; also ten grandchildren and five brothers. All of the children were home except Mervin from Hawaii. Mrs. Teig was a faithful member of Our Savior's Lutheran church. Dr. Arthur Rholl, local pastor, was assisted in the services by Rev. Leonard Hinderaker of LaCrosse, Wis. At Mrs. Teig's request, her son Nels Tieg sang, "Safe In the Arms of Jesus." Following the services here, the body was taken to Lakefield, Minn., for burial.
