Saturday rites scheduled for Minnie Purvis

Mrs. Minnie R. Purvis of 328 South Hazel, Ames, died Wednesday evening at the Story County Hospital at the age of 84.

Born March 27, 1888 in Republican County, Kansas to William and Jane Stahlman, she had been a resident of Story County nearly her entire lifetime. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home Saturday at 1:30 p.m., with burial in the Nevada Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Owen Purvis of Roc Hill, So. Carolina, and Robert Purvis of Radcliffe, Kentucky; four daughters, Mrs. Mable Severson and Mrs. Bessie Kitchen, both of Nevada, Miss Elsie Purvis of Ames and Mrs. Sadie Imlay of Anamosa; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Claude Post of Nevada.

She was preceded in death by three brother, two sisters, two daughters and her husband Lawrence.
