Story county friends of the Andy McWhirter family, who lived north of Nevada a number of years ago, will be interested in a letter received by a friend in which Mrs. McWhirter, writing from the home of her daughter Edna at 2728 Van Buren St., Chicago, told of the death of Mr. McWhirter on Dec. 9, 1935. He suffered a stroke as he was about to go to dinner on his eighty-seventh birthday, Dec. 3. He was buried in Aurora, Ill., by the side of his mother. Mrs. McWhirter is in her eighty-second year. She said her daughter Edna, with whom she lives, has four sons. Her son Phil lives in San Antonio, Texas. Miss Leota McWhirter passed away when the family lived near Nevada and is buried in the Nevada cemetery.
