OBITUARY

Mr. Billings is Laid to Rest

Jason Lincoln Billings was born at Bitterford, Me., Nov. 20, 1861, and died at his home in McCallsburg, Iowa, Oct. 20, 1920, aged 58 years and 11 months.

When he was six years olg his parents moved to Zumbrota, Minn., and later to Chelsea, finally settling just south of Ames, bringing him with them.

He was of a family of six children, four boys and two girls.

Nov. 7, 1882, he was united in marriage with Miss Catherine Johnston of near Nevada. To them were born six children, three boys and three girls. Of these two are dead, Jessie Inez dying at the age of six weeks and Guy Earl at the age of ten years.

During his early married life he lived in a number of Iowa towns, but for 23 years previous to his death he had resided continuously in McCallsburg or vicinity.

His wife preceded him in death, having died March 15, 1916. He is survived by four children: Howard O. of Long Beach, Cal., Mrs. Ray Nokes of Nevada, Iowa, Harry E. and Miss Anna J. of McCallsburg, Iowa.

He has seven surviving grandchildren. Two of his brothers also survive: Albert of Hopkinton and Fred of Kansas.

Mr. Billings united with the Evergreen U. B. church of Story county about thirty years ago and was a faithful and devoted member of it for a time. Several days before his death he renewed his faith in Christ and being comforted and strengthened by the Word of God he approached death "like one who wraps the drapery of his couch about him and lies down to pleasant dreams" and fell asleep in the Christian faith.
