FORMER COLLINS WOMEN ARE DEAD
ONE IN LONG BEACH, CALIF., AND THE OTHER IN RHODES

Collins, May 26--Two former women of this community will be laid to rest in widely separated cemeteries this afternoon--Mrs. Rose Henry at Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Ida Elliott in the Day cemetery east of Collins.Mrs. David Henry, age about 57 years, died at her home at Long Beach, Calif., early Tuesday, according to word reaching this place and the funeral and interment will be a Long Beach today.
Mrs. Henry, whose maiden name was Rose Johnson, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson. She was first married to William Halterman, who had been dead for a number of years. They had one daughter who is now Mrs. Leona Ball and lives in California.
Mrs. Halterman went to California about 12 years ago and there she was married to David Henry who with the daughter survives her. She also leaves a brother, Henry Johnson of Collins, another, Walter of Omaha and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Higgins of Omaha.
Mrs. Ida Elliott
Mrs. Elliott was the widow of the late Thomas W. Elliott who died August 29, 1931. Mrs. Elliott died at the family home in Rhodes Tuesday morning at 4:30. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the M. P. church in Rhodes with Rev. V. Hougham of Collins in charge. Interment will be in the Day cemetery.
Her maiden name was Ida Belle Castleman and she was born near Marshalltown, May 27, 1870. Later the family moved over near Newton in Jasper county and there she was married to Thomas W. Elliott November 17, 1888.
The family lived east of Collins for a number of years but about 7 years ago moved into Rhodes where Mr. Elliott passed away leaving his wife and twelve children. The children are William of Corwith; Charles and Victor of Rhodes; Earl of Rock Island; Guy and Fred of Collins; Lorenzo of Battle Forks, Sask.; Mrs. William Blink of West Burlington; Mrs. Florence Church of Tama; Donald of Canton, Ohio; Bessie of Woodward and Wesley of Minneapolis.
