Mrs. L. A. Queal Former Nevada Woman, Died, Funeral Tues.
Funeral services for Mrs. L. A. Queal, 70, of 902 Burnett avenue, Ames, who died from the results of a stroke, late Firday afternoon will be held from the U. B. church in Ames, Tuesday at 2 p.m., according to word received here by her brother, Leon Stevens, of Nevada. Mrs. Queal had been in ill health for about two years.
She was born Myrah Stevens, daughter of William and Clarissa Stevens, at Iowa Center, May 13, 1873, and moved with the family to Nevada as a young girl.
Here she grew to womanhood and was married to L. A. Queal of Ames, where she had lived for 33 years.
Mrs. Queal was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Woodman Circle, Auxiliary and the United Brethren church.
Mrs. Queal is survived by her husband, L. A. Queal, three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Moen of Starbuck, Minn.; Mrs. Etta Rothrock of Richmond, Calif.; and Mrs. Edith Metcalf of Viola, Ia., and one brother, Leon Stevens of Nevada.
She is also survived by her aged mother Mrs. Clarissa Eliston*, 96, who had made her home with the Queals for many years.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Myra Ella (Stevens) Queal was the daughter of William Inlows Stevens and Clarissa Jane Spencer. Clarissa married secondly Milburn Ellison in 1905, not "Eliston" as stated.
