Raola Maxine Giles
January 20, 1922 - December 16, 2019Raola Maxine Giles, 97 of Nevada, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 19 at the Nevada First United Methodist Church (1036 7th Street) in Nevada. A visitation will also be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 20 at the Ellston United Methodist Church (101 Sherman Street) in Ellston with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Tingley Cemetery in Tingley.
Raola was born January 20, 1922, in Genevieve, MT the daughter of Winnie Clyde and Orpha Estella (Kelley) Feeback. She graduated from Arispe High School in 1940 and was united in marriage to Warren Gerald Giles on February 12, 1944, in Creston. Raola worked as a lab technician for the NADC, retiring in 1986.
Raola was a member of the D.A.R., Nevada First United Methodist Church and the Story County Genealogical Society. She especially enjoyed flowers and tended the flower beds for many years at Evergreen Lane in Nevada.
Raola is survived by her sons: Gary (Gayle) Giles of Littleton, CO, Mike (Terry) Giles of Grantsburg, WI and Bob (Luanne) Giles of Aurora, CO; her daughter, Anne Coffman of Story City; her grandchildren: Dena (Jim) Kothe, John (Cindy) Giles, Amy (Mark) Swanson, Craig (Julie) Giles, Elizabeth (Keith) O’Brien, Krystal (Stephen) Chellis, Lisa Thorn, Lori (Guy) Johnston, Leanne (Kalen) Lewis and Brett Coffman; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; her brother, Jim (Jane Lee) Feeback of Mt. Ayr and her sister, Judi O’Grady of Eudora, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Bill Feeback; her sisters: Francis Davenport, Elizabeth Giles and Connie Huff and her grandson, Bobby Giles.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nevada First United Methodist Church, Ellston United Methodist Church or St. Croix Hospice in memory of Raola.
