Funeral Servies Held For Mrs. Omar Tegland
STORY CITY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Omar Tegland were held Monday afternoon at the home at 1:30 and at St. Petri Lutheran church at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Ocee Johnson in charge.
Rev. G. O. Paulsrud spoke at the home and Mrs. Kathleen Walker sang "What a Friend We Have In Jesus." Soloists at the church were Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Marjorie Kenny. Rev. Ivar Havneros gave words of comfort and admonition.
Serving as casket bearers were -. -. Mortvedt, Ernest Williams, Arlen Hougland, T. M. Holm, Arnold Jacobson and Harvey Jorgenson.
Interment was in the Story City cemetery.
Obituary
Mrs. Millie Tegland was born on November 25, 1894, at her home four miles west of Story City. Her parents were Thomas and Anna Ersland.
She was baptized and confirmed in Bethel Lutheran church by Rev. Paulsrud. She attended the local schools and was graduated in 1913. Following graduation, she taught school and was married to Omar Tegland on January 11, 1916.
To this union three children were born: Emory of Ellsworth; Leroy of Lake Park, Minnesota, and Eleanor at home.
She had lived in this community all of her life. She had been a faithful member of St. Petri Lutheran church since 1916. On Friday evening, Sept. 5, she passed away at her home at the age of 57 years, nine months and 10 days.
Surviving are her husband; her three children and three grandchildren, Beverly, Marjorie and Bruce Tegland; also one sister, Mrs. Theodore Jacobson of Story City and one brother, Elvin J. Ingrbritson of Des Moines. Her parents and one brother, Julius preceded her in death.
