Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Arlene Elizabeth (Storvick) Wee passed away October 11, 2019, at Accura Health Care Center in Ames. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15 at Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery.

Arlene, was an only child, born to Edythe (Hill) and Ole Storvick in Des Moines on September 9, 1936. She graduated from Alleman High School in 1954 and in the fall of 1954 began a 31-year career working at Central National Bank in downtown Des Moines.

Shortly after her mother passed away in 1985, Arlene married her long-time friend, Keith Wee, on June 9, 1985. The wedding ceremony took place at Palestine Lutheran Church where they had both been lifetime members.

Arlene and Keith enjoyed traveling and took numerous bus trips throughout the United States. A cherished memory was in 1986 when they spent a month in Norway visiting her relatives.

Arlene was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She and Keith wore their handmade Norwegian bunads at local festivals.

Her special interests included flower gardens, birds, dolls, baking and knitting. Arlene and Keith were honored as Huxley citizens of the month in January, 1997, for their volunteer service delivering "Meals on Wheels" and taking the elderly to appointments. Arlene belonged to the Sons of Norway and was a lifetime member of the Huxley Historical Society.

Survivors include cousins and friends in the United States was well as several cousins in Norway. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, in 2014.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimers Association or Palestine Lutheran Church.
