Thomas Gerald Ford, 70, of Ames, Iowa, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a service and meal starting at 5:00 p.m., at Open Bible Fellowship (1125 SW 3rd St, Ankeny, IA 50023). Private family burial will take places at a later time at the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Tom was born on April 25, 1949, at his home in Lehigh, Iowa, to Perry and Hazel (Farnam) Ford. He graduated from Webster City High School. Tom was united in marriage to Penny Bowen on March 3, 2012, in Ankeny, Iowa at Open Bible Fellowship. Tom owned and operated Tom & Jerry Trucking Company for a number of years.

Tom enjoyed camping, fishing and always watching Hallmark movies. He was a handyman who could fix anything and was always working on something. Tom was a member of Open Bible Fellowship in Ankeny with his wife, Penny. God and family were the two most important things to Tom, he always enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife; Penny; one brother, David Ford; two children: Jerry (Tamara) Ford and Susan Obregon; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and seven siblings.
