Tragic Death of Larry Rench This Morning

Larry, the eight months old baby son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto T. Rench, tenants for Glen Dadisman in the W. T. White farm six miles south east of Nevada, was burned to death in a fire which destroyed the three room tenant house about nine o'clock this morning.

Every effort was made to save the baby who was lying in his bed in the living room. An attempt was made to gain entrance through the window in an effort to reach to child but the fire and smoke prevented such a rescue.

Mrs. Rench was gone from home but a few minutes, leaving the four children, Howard, five, Alice, three, Farell two and the baby Larry in the house.

When she returned within a very few minutes the three older children were in the yard screaming that the house was on fire. She rushed into the house but fire and smoke prevented her reaching the baby's bed. Mr. Rench and other help was immediately at hand doing everything humanly possible to save the baby's life.

The Nevada fire department was called and gave as much aid as possible but the three room cottage was not long in being burned to the ground with all its contents including the baby Larry.

A check up at the Dadisman home this morning revealed the information, that if possible, a funeral service for the child will be held at the Ryan Funeral home in Nevada or in Cambridge where the family lived before coming as tenants on the Dadisman farm last July. The fire, of unknown origin, apparently started in the bedroom.

The sympathy if everyton is extended Mr. and Mrs. Rench in the tragic loss of their baby son.

Mrs. Rench before her marriage was Marjorie Grimsley of Cambridge.
