From Nevada Representative July 30, 1902 (page 7)

CAMBRIDGE

Eric Sheldahl, one of the oldest residents of Story county died at his home in Cambridge Saturday, July 26. He was born in Norway and came to Illinois when a young man and after a few years came to Story county, Iowa, where he had since lived. He was married twice* and the father of nineteen children, nine of whom are still living. Mr. Sheldahl was a man of honor and integrity, esteemed by all, and an example of real manhood. While he was in his eighty-eighth year yet his mind was clear and he seemed to desire above everything to be a help to others rather than a care of burden. The funeral service was conducted in the English language by Rev. Graves in Cambridge at one o'clock Monday and in Palestine church in the Norwegian language at three o'clock. A large concourse of people was in attendance. The widow and children have the sympathy of all.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Erik Erikson Sheldahl married (1) Margaret L. Skjold ca. 1942 in Norway. He married (2) Alice Henryson Beroen on 14 January 1860 in Story County, Iowa.
