Rites Held Tuesday For Louie Marshall

Funeral services for Louie Marie Marshall were held Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 25 at the Christian Church in Nevada with Rev. W. R. Tuttle in charge of services.

Mrs. Arlene Huhn was at the organ, playing a number of selections before and after the service.

The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Lee Cook and Mrs. Robert Ogden.

Casket bearers were Glen Armstrong, Harry Cook, Mervin Fry, Arlo Huse, John w. Peterson and M. L. Snyder.

Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.

Life Sketch

Louie Marie Marshall was born to Butler and Hannah Pool, Jan. 15, 1898, who lived on a farm northeast of Nevada. She passed away Friday evening, Oct. 21, 1960 at the Story County Hospital.

In 1902, the Pool family moved from the farm to Nevada Louie continued to live until her death. She attended the public schools of Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1917. Shortly afterward she went to work in the offices of the Ford Garage in Nevada. As a young lady, she made her confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized into membership of the Christian Church where she was always a very active member until her last sickness.

On June 24, 1922 in Humeston, Iowa, Louie Marie was married to Merrill Marshall. Two sons were born to this union, Carroll of Los Angeles, Calif. and Harlan of Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Marshall made their home in Nevada where she was active not only in church work but as a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Woman's Club.

Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her parent and her husband. She is survived by her two sons, Carroll of Los Angeles and Harlan of Nevada; her sister and brother-in-law, Stella and Clarence French of Nevada and Mrs. Leota Fry, also of Nevada; other relatives and a host of friends.
