John Wakefield Died Saturday at His Home in Ames

John Wakefield, 711 Northwestern, Ames, well known Story county resident, passed away at his home Saturday evening, Oct. 26.

He was born on a farm four miles north of Ames Nov. 6, 1869. Had he live until Nov. 6 he would have been 77 years of age.

Son of H. C. and Lavina Wakefield, he was married to Martha R. Longsdroff [sic], Feb. 5, 1895 with whom he celebrated their fiftieth Golden Wedding anniversary, Feb. 5, 1945 in Ames.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, two sons, Guy L. and Floyd L., both of Ames, three granddaughters, three grandsons, two great-grandsons, and three sisters, Emma, Polly and Maude Wakefield of Gilbert.

Funeral services will be held at the Adams Funeral Hoe, Ames, Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 3:30. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.
