Held Fueneral Rites For Pioneer Maxwell Woman On Thursday

Maxwell, April 10--Funeral services for Hattie McClure, widow of the late Frank M. McClure, who died on Monday, at the home of her son, Elba E. McClure at Ames, were held at the local Church of Christ on Thursday afternoon at 1:30. The rites were in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Robert G. W. Collins, with Mrs. Arthur Porter at the piano. Mrs. Coibns and Mrs. Kenneth Tomlinson sang "Old Rugged Cross," and "Going Down The Valley." Floral tributes were many and most beautiful.

Pallbearers were Will Warren, Jay and Verne Harmon, H. E. Alverson, Willis Rupp and Elric Boster. Burial was made in the family lot in the Maxwell cemetery.

Rev. Collins read the following brief life sketch:

Hattie Elizabeth Swart McClure, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Swart, was born August 5, 1858 at Urbana, Illinois, and passed from this life April 4, 1943 at the home of her son in Ames.

Mrs. McClure came to Boone county, Iowa, with her parents when but a small child. She was married on February 14, 1883 to Frank M. McClure at Boone.

Five children were born to this union, three preceding her in death, Jessie, Blanche and Fern. Mr. McClure died February 1st of this year.

Mrs. McClure leaves to mourn her loss two sons, Elba and Forest, two sister, Maude Swart and Mrs. Edna Wilkinson, one brother, John Swart, five grandchildren, an five great grandchildren.
