Aged Pioneer Dies.

Special to the JOURNAL.
AMES, April 25.--Wendell Mauser, a pioneer resident of Story county, died Thursday night about ten o'clock at his home eight miles southwest of town. Death was caused by paralysis with which he was stricken early in the evening while working about the barn with his team. He had apparently been in the usual health during the day and the stroke came without warning. He was picked up in a helpless condition though still conscious but lived only a few hours.

The funeral took place Sunday at one p. m. at the M. E. church at Napier. Deceased was about sixty years old, and leaves a wife.
