Forest Dean Kitchen (1929-2019)

From Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, Missouri.

Forest Dean Kitchen, 89, of New Hampton, Missouri passed away April 23, 2019 at the Leonardville Nursing Home in Leonardville, KS.

Dean was born September 1, 1929 on the family farm near Collins, Iowa to Forest John William Kitchen and Imogene Lou (Stiegelmeier) Kitchen. Raised on hard work and farm living, Dean loved the outdoors, animals, and an honest day’s labor. He graduated from Collins High School in 1947.

He married Nora Lee Carson on September 19, 1953. They were blessed with two children, Deana Louann and John Arthur. They resided for over 30 years in the Gilbert, Iowa area where Dean spent many years as a long-distance semi driver and completed his working years as a rural mail carrier. After retirement the couple moved to rural New Hampton, Missouri.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nora, two sisters, Beverly Renfeldt and Kathleen Davis.

He is survived by his daughter Deana (Louann) and husband Floyd Hansford of Clay Center, KS, son John Kitchen and his wife Julie of Stow, OH, brother-in-law David Renfeldt and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dean’s faith and eternal hope rested upon Jesus Christ and he looked forward to life with Him forever.

Graveside Service and Burial: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 30 at the Foster Cemetery, New Hampton. The family will receive friends 4:00 – 5:00 PM on Monday at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM on Monday. Memorial Contributions: Dean Kitchen Memorial Fund in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, MO 64402.
