Joor Funeral Held at Maxwell
Special to the Journal.
Maxwell, Nov. 21--The funeral services for Abbie Joor were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Christian church with Rev. N. W. Underwood in charge. Music was furnished by a quartette composed of Mrs. C. I. Kirk, Mrs. Ray Gooden, M. H. Troup and Albert Green with Mrs. N. A. Pearson at the piano. The pall bearers were J. D. Miller, W. Richardson, Geo. Rupp, C. I. Kirk, Ray Robertson and F. W. McClintock.Miss Abbie Joor the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Joor was born July 27, 1860 and passed away in Maxwell Nov. 16, 1933. She had made her home in Maxwell since the death of her father many years ago. Her parents and a brother Dr. Peter Joor preceded her in death. Her only surviving relatives are two nephews, John Joor of Maxwell and Will Joor of Charles City. Miss Joor united with the Christian church of Maxwell in 1905 and was a devoted member.
Burial was in the Pleasant Run cemetery beside her parents.
Dr. and Mrs. Will Joor of Charles City attended the services.
