Funeral Rites for Mrs. H. W. Stafford Friday Afternoon

Ames, Dec. 14--Funeral rites for Mrs. H. W. Stafford, 79, who died at her home on Duff avenue, Ames, Wednesday, will be held Friday at 2 p. m. from the Congregational church with Rev. McLaughlin in charge. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.

Mrs. Stafford, wife of the president of the Ames Trust and Savings bank, was born Cora Amelia Braisted at West Bridport, Vermont, Oct. 1, 1860. She attended school at Westport, N. Y., and taught school in Vermont and one year in Cherokee county, Ia. She was married to H. W. Stafford Jan. 4, 1884 at West Bridport.

The couple first settled on a farm in Grundy county, an in 1893 they moved to a farm near Blairsburg. In 1908 the family came to Ames, where Mr. Stafford became associated in the banking business.

Surviving are her husband and three sons, Clay of Ames, Adelbert and Ray of Blairsburg. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, and three nephews, William Braisted of Bennington, Vt., and Earl and Wm. Frisbie, Westport, N. Y.
