ANOTHER MAN KILLED BY THE CARS AT AMES

William Doyle Struck by No. 6 Tuesday Evening and Both Limbs Cut Off.

Special to the Journal.
AMES, Oct. 13. -- Another victim has met his fate under the wheels of a moving train in the Northwestern yards of this place. The last to suffer this unkind fate is a man giving his name as William Doyle and claiming Decatur, Ill., as his home. Passenger train No. 60 was crossing the Hoggatt street crossing when it struck the man, who was walking up the track and did not notice the backing train. Speaking of the matter the Times says:

"The man was picked up about twenty minutes later and taken to Dr. Templeton's office where he was taken care of until he died at 2:55 a. m. Both limbs were cut off, the right one just below the knee and the left one at the thigh joint. He was conscious for several hours and when asked how the accident occurred, said he was trying to get a train to Story City saying that several of his friends had gone on. He would not or was disinclined to give any information about his home or his family further than he was an orphan and the only relatives he had were an uncle at Monticello, Ill., and cousin at Decatur, Ill. Though indications point that he was a tramp looking for an opportunity to steal a ride, he was well dressed and had better appearance than the the ordinary so called hobo. He gave his age as thirty-eight years. He realized he had been fatally injured and asked for a priest. Father Renier was called and comforted the man in his last hours. The body was taken to Loud's undertaking rooms and will be buried here unless relatives are heard from."
