Father Dies at Albia

Gilbert R. Pierce, father of Richard Pierce of Nevada who died in the Monroe County Hospital at Albia Tuesday Nov. 3 at 8:15 p.m. will be buried from the Ryan Funeral home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Interment is in the Nevada Cemetery.

Pierce was in the hospital only four days before his death.

He was born at West Liberty on Sept. 22, 1879.

There survives two sons, Richard Pierce of Nevada and Edward Pierce of Onawa and three daughters: Mrs. James Harmon, of Maxwell; Mrs. Ben Bergman, of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Mrs. Elmer Hanson of Clear Lake. There are a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
