Obituary
MRS. EMMA PAULSON
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Paulson, 88, of Story City were held at Grace United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3 with Rev. Paul H. Beckman officiating. Mrs. Charles Beckman officiating. Mrs. Charles Jewell sang, accompanied by Mrs. Dorrel Doolittle, organist. Burial was at Center Cemetery, southwest of Story City.
Pall bearers were Harris Paulson, Ben Bengeson, Morris Tressler, Franklin Paulson, Leonard Johnson and Milford Johnson.
Emma Paulson, daughter of Andrew and Anna Anderson was born June 18, 1888 in Story County. She passed away at Story City Bethany Manor on Monday morning, Nov. 1. She had been a resident of Bethany Manor for three years.
On Dec. 18, 1907 she was united in marriage to John O. Paulson. They farmed west of Story City until Mr. Paulson's death on Aug. 30, 1929. Emma then moved to Story City and was employed at Iowa State University in Ames as a cook until 1950.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Story City and Council class member.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Luella Christenson of Story City; a daughter in law, Mrs. Hilma Paulson; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three foster sisters and two foster brothers.
