Funeral services for Sam M. White, native son of Story county, were held in the Seventh-Day Adventist church, Nevada, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in the Nevada cemetery.
Samuel McCaslin White, son of Samuel M. and Mary Ellen White, was born in Nevada township, Jan. 9, 1886. He attended the Hickory Grove school, farmed as a young man and later worked at the barber trade until his health failed.
He was married to Mary Myrtle Carr Nov. 29, 1933, and they made their home with her father, B. F. Carr, at 225 J avenue. He had been in ill health a number of years suffering from asthma. He was a kind and loving husband, a good friend and neighbor.
He leaves his wife Myrtle, three brothers, W. T. White of Nevada and A. A. White of Colo, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Two sisters preceded him in death, Mrs. Elizabeth Gallagher of Nevada and Mrs. Hattie Gearhart of Colo.
A large number of relatives and friends attended the funeral service at the Seventh-Day Adventist church by Elders A. L. Miller and C. A. Larsen. He was buried at Nevada.
