Anton M. Thompson Funeral Services Are Held Saturday

Anton M. Thompson was born Jan. 15, 1880 at Paxton, Ill., the son of T. O. and Martha Thompson. He died Sept. 27, 1961 at 8:45 a. m. at the home of his sisters, Lillian and Eunice Thompson, with whom he had been visiting for several days. He was a resident of Fargo, N. D.

A retired farmer and lawyer he had lived in North Dakota since 1906.

Thompson was married to Anna Schaudt in 1907 at Colo, Iowa. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1907 and was a former North Dakota State Representative.

Survivors include one son, Dr. Roger S. Thompson, Piedmont Hotel, Seattle, Wash., one daughter, Mrs. Lois Ann Minch of Fargo, N. D., four brothers, Otto H., Tuscon, Ariz., Chester H., Roy, Wash., Daniel S., San Diego, Calif., Jasper W., Kenai, Alaska; three sisters, Eunice M., Lillian P., both of Nevada, and Ruby V. of Hong Kong, China. He also leaves three grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for Anton M. Thompson were held at the Ryan Funeral Home Saturday, Sept. 30, 1962, at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. James Dendler of the Methodist Church officiating.

Mrs. Norman Dobson, organist, provided music for the service. A large number were in attendance at the service, friends and relatives, from several towns in Iowa, as well as outside of the state.

Masonic services at at the graveside were in charge of Nevada Lodge No. 99 A.F. & A.M. with W. E. Horine giving the funeral rites.

The casket bearers were Russell Chitty, Elmer Larson, Frank McLaughlin, William Schaudt, Marion Thompson and John Watts.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
