ZEARING – Lester William Hambly, of Waterloo, passed away on March 15 at 8 p.m. in the University hospital at Iowa City. He was born in St. Paul, Minn., a son of August and Mary Johnke. He married Lila Deal, of Zearing, in Marshalltown on Feb. 7, 1912. To this union was born six children. He was a contractor in Waterloo for 11 years. He is survived by his wife, Lila Hambly, of Waterloo, and six children, Lester Jr., Mrs. Hazel Regan, Mrs. Robert Seavey, Mrs. Donald Clark, all of Cedar Falls, Lloyd and Milton of Waterloo, his mother and four brothers who live in Canada, a sister in Chicago and a brother, Alfred Hambly, of Colo, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at O'Keefe and Lowne Funeral home in Waterloo at 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, 1951, with burial in the Zearing cemetery at 4 o'clock.
About 31 years ago the Hambly family resided in Zearing.
