Area Deaths

FARLEY F. NAGLE

Farley F. Nagle, 75, former Ames and Des Moines area resident died at Lancaster, California Sunday, August 12. He had been visiting a daughter there for four months.

Born Feb. 26, 1898 in Polk County, he had lived in Ames being employed by Iowa State University for 38 years before retiring in 1963.

He and his wife had lived in Des Moines for 10 years before going to California and he was a veteran of WWI serving with the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are his wife Cecil of Lancaster, two sons, Harold of Ames, Paul of Nevada, five daughters, Mrs. Bea Taylor of R R 2, Ames; Jean Dawson of Des Moines, Patricia Sansgaard of Boone, Sandra Janssen and Shirley Janssen Ramsey both of Lancaster, Calif., one brother, Thad Nagle of Polk City, and Sara Welder of St. Joseph, Missouri, 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Fred and Garry, to infant daughters; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services are to be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Ames with Rev. John J. Hamilton of Grand Ave. Church officiating. Burial is to be in the Story Memorial Garden Cemetery.
