Donna Rae (Millard) Keeton (86) of Grinnell, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 30th, at the Mayflower Health Center in Grinnell, Iowa. A gathering of friends and family will be 1-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, with a celebration of life service at 3:00 p.m. at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa.

She was born October 2, 1932 in Ames, Iowa to Percy and Lucille (Frazier) Millard of Gowrie, Iowa. She grew up in Gowrie and graduated from Gowrie High School in 1950. She attended nursing school in Des Moines, Iowa. She worked at Skiff Hospital in Newton, Iowa for 24-1/2 years before retiring in June 1977. She was married to Garl Thornburgh for 21 years, who passed away. She married Roscoe Keeton in Newton on June 27, 1975. They moved to Lovilia, Iowa in 1977. She worked for the AEA Preschool Handicapped Program in Albia, Iowa for 13 years, retiring in September 1991.

Donna enjoyed playing basketball and was a bowler for many years. She loved her Iowa State Cyclones, and spending time with her family. She was a care giver and had a passionate spirit.

Donna is survived by a daughter, Terri Leedom of Grinnell, Iowa, 2 grandchildren, Luke (Bobby) Leedom of Des Moines, Iowa and Teah Leedom of Grinnell, Iowa, 2 great-grandchildren, Zaine Leedom and Hailey Morse, a brother, David Millard of Ames, Iowa, a niece, June (Paul) Lewandoski of Manitowish Waters, WI, a nephew, Bryan (Lora) Millard of Dumont, Iowa, and several step-grandchildren and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe, in 1992, her parents, 2 daughters, Vicki and Kristi Thornburgh, and a step-son, Michael Thornburgh.

The family would suggest memorials may be sent to Mayflower Health Care Center in Grinnell, or the Lewy Body Dementia Foundation.
