Helen Lulu Richardson
Feb. 16, 1902, to May 18, 2001Helen Lulu Richardson, 99, of Schererville, Ind., and formerly of Nevada, died of cancer on Friday, May 18, at her daughter's home in Indiana.
She was born Feb. 16, 1902, in Johnston to Frank and Lulu (Hunt) Otto. She was a school teacher and married Howard Richardson on Dec. 27, 1922, in Grimes. She resided in Nevada for 32 years and moved to Schereville in 1961. She was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lansing, Ill., and enjoyed gardening, playing cards and reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn "Lynn" Angulo of Schereville, Ind.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 5, 1960; two brothers, Earl and Archie Otto; and a twin brother, Howard Otto, a sister, Imo Lamb; and her son-in-law, Dr. E. D. Angulo on Nov. 3, 1995.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 22, at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada and Pastor David Seip of the Memorial Lutheran Church officiating. Burial followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Helen's name to the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lansing, Ill.
