Shirley Joan Robinson, 92, of Colo, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 7 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 8, at the Colo United Methodist Church (602 4th Street) in Colo with The Reverend Douglas Harding officiating. Burial will follow at Colo Cemetery in Colo.

Shirley was born November 13, 1926, in Colo, the daughter of Harry Allen and Mable Mae (Fry) Tripp. She graduated from Colo High School in 1944 and was united in marriage to Doyle Robinson on February 16, 1946, in Quasqueton, Iowa. Shirley enjoyed playing cards, reading and visiting with friends and family. She also enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Arizona for many years. Above all, Shirley loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her children: Bob (Jan) Robinson, Mary (Bill) Schemmel and Terry (Dawne) Robinson; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Robinson; her sister, Bonnie Smith; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle; her son, Donnie Robinson; and her sister, Gladys Rhoads.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Shirley.
