Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Izola Ruth Crispin, age 81, passed away at her home in rural Madrid on November 19, 2018.

Born on April 7, 1937, Izola was the daughter of Lyle and Caroline (Frette) Voss. She graduated from Gilbert High School in 1955. Izola was united in marriage to Charles Crispin on November 28, 1958. Charles and Izola farmed together and she was always proud to be a working farm wife; driving tractors, helping on the farm and raising livestock. Izola enjoyed gardening and was a long-time member of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Izola is survived by her children: Donald Crispin of Madrid and Tammy Crispin (John Thompson) of Ankeny; her grandchildren: Matthew Crispin of Ames, Jacquelyn (Zachary) Schrader of Mapleton and Alexandria Thompson of Ankeny; two great-grandchildren: Addison and Charles Schrader; and her brother Ellis (Sandy) Voss of Ames.

Izola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; and a daughter-in-law, Naylene Crispin.

Friends may call from 3-5:00 PM on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 3, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Madrid with Pastor Marcus Badgley officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. A luncheon at the church will follow the internment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Adams Funeral Home and online condolences may be left for Izola’s family at www.adamssoderstrum.com.
