Virginia Lough Sutton
Feb. 10, 1916, to May 31, 2001

Virginia Ginger Lough Sutton, 85, of Nevada, died of congestive heart failure on Thursday, May 31, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

She was born Feb. 10, 1916, in Collins to Flavius and Mabel (Hand) Pritchard. She was a 1933 graduate of Collins school and married Frank B. Lough on Sept. 18, 1938, on a farm near Collins. After Frank's death in 1953, she married Murl D. Sutton on Jan. 31, 1956, at the First Congregational Church in Cedar Falls. She was a homemaker and retired in 1978 after 27 years at R. H. Donnelley Co. in Nevada in order processing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada and enjoyed her flower gardens. She was lifelong resident of Story County.

Survivors include two sons, Galen (and Diana) Lough and Rick Sutton, both of Nevada, one grandson; one great-grandson; four sisters, Rosetta Baird of Sun City West, Ariz., Jeri Freeman of Tulsa, Okla., Lois Breuklander of Des Moines and Katherine Hokel of Ankeny; and a sister-in-law, Carol Pritchard of Maxwell.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Lough on Nov. 16, 1953; her husband, Murl Sutton on Feb. 3, 1991; infant brothers, a brother, Bill Pritchard; and two sisters, Betty Boot and Joan Lundholm.

Her body has been cremated and burial of the cremains will be held in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery at a later date. A memorial fund has been established. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled arrangements.
