Rites For Jacob Larson Held At Story City May 11
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 11, in Immanuel Lutheran Church for Jacob H. Larson, former Roland resident. Rev. Harold T. Masted officiated with Mrs. Masted singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Nearer My God to Thee." She was accompanied by Miss Louise Olson on the organ.
Pall bearers were Verne Larsons, Robert Larson, Lloyd Frette, Earl Frette, Lyle Olson and Lester Thompson. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Jacob H. Larson of Dakota City, Iowa died Tuesday, May 7, at the age of 72 years. Born July 3, 1890, he was the son of Severt and Christine Larson of Wiota on Oct 9, 1904. On March 18, 1911 he was united in marriage to Ella Frette of Story City.
Mr. Larson is survived by 5 sons and one daughter, Harley of Rupert, Idaho; Stanley of Melrose, Ia.; Lee of Minot, N. D.; Everett of Marshalltown and Mrs. Faye Rosenthal* of Humboldt. Twenty grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one brother, Lars Larson of Roland also survive. Larson was preceded in death by his wife, Ella.
