Last Rites Held For Mrs. Julius Knutson At St. Petri in Story City, January 6
Funeral services for Mrs. Julius Knutson were held in St. Petri Lutheran Curch at Story City on Friday afternoon, January 6 at 2 p.m. A short prayer servi was held in the church chapel preceding the service. The Rev. George C. Strum officiated. The congregation sang "As With Gladness" and Mrs. Robert Hermanson sang, "Through the Love of God Our Father" at the opening of the service and "The Lord's Prayer" at the close. Mrs. Alfred Jacobson accompanied her on the organ. Casket bearers were I. J. Grindem of Nevada, Sheldon Williams, Charles Kammin, I. Z. Henryson, Theroy Wierson and Cernal Sampson. Burial was in the Story City Memorial cemetery.
Obituary
Minnie Osvog Opstvedt was born to Severt and Martha Osvog near Roland on May 8, 1893. Following a ten days illness in the Story City Hospital, she died Tuesday evening, January 3, at the age of 67 years.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. On June 15, 1911 she was united in marriage to Julius Knutson. William Starkey had made his home with them since he was nine.
Her survivors include one son, William Starkey, two nieces and two nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Julius on December 17, 1959, her parents and one sister.
