Mrs. Flossie M. Jones Dies in Ames Home
A 76-year-old woman who had been a resident of Story County practically her entire lifetime, Mrs. Flossie M. Jones, passed away Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 at the Ames Nursing home.
Funeral services for the rural Huxley woman have been set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Ryan Funeral Home, with Rev. Alfred Wilkin officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
Flossie M. Coxworth was born Oct. 5, 1887 in Ida Grove, the daughter of William and Sarah Coxworth. She and her husband were the parents of one daughter, Mrs. Basil (Frances) Grimes of Huxley. The Grimes have two children, Gary and Linda, both of Huxley.
In addition she is also survived by five sisters: Mrs. Emily Stowers Jones of Lemon Grove, Calif.; Mrs. Cordelia Smith of LaMesa, Calif.; Mrs. Leota Hogan of Marengo; Mrs. Quigley Timmons of Orlando, Fla. and Mrs. A. M. George of Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters and her husband, LeRoy D. Jones who died in 1956.
