Last Rites Held April 26 for the Rev. John Johnson
Funeral services for the Rev. John Martinus Johnson, retired Lutheran minister, were held Friday, April 26, at 2 p. m. at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Ames. Rev. Robert Larson was in charge of the service.
A granddaughter of Rev. Johnson, Sarah Johnson played a violin number accompanied by Mrs. William Boyken, organist.
Rev. Johnson died of a heart attack on April 23 in Nevada. He had been in failing health and had recently been in the Story County Hospital for tests. He was born Dec. 27, 1884 in Minneapolis and was 78 years of age at the time of his death.
For his casket bearers, fellow ministers served. They were : Rev. William Benbow, Rev. Lambert Locker, Rev. Howard Lybeck, Rev. Everett Nelson, Rev. Reid Seastrand and Rev. George Strum.
Interment was in the Nevada Cemetery.
