OBITUARY

MRS. MARGARET HICKEY

Mrs. Margaret Graham Hickey, widow of the late Patrick Hickey died at her home in this city, Wednesday, October 4, 1916, aged 79 years, 3 months and 22 days. Her death was not unexpected; for she had for a week or more been critically ill and to those about her the end had appear inevitable and near.

Mrs. Hickey was born Margaret Graham in Dungennon, County Tyrone, Ireland, and came alone to Boone county, Illinois in 1866, and was there married shortly afterward, November 20 of that year, to Patrick Hickey. They came almost immediately to Iowa and established their home near Nevada in Richland township, where they lived until his death over thirty years ago, since which time she has lived in Nevada. She leaves a brother, John Graham, in the old home in Ireland, and two sisters, Mr.s Geo. McGuinnies Clarke of South Dakota and Mrs. James McDonald of this city. Relatives coming here for the funeral this afternoon at the Methodist church are two nieces, Mrs. S. M. Harter of Marshalltown and Mrs. L. A. Bush of Ames, and her nephew, Thomas McDonald Jr. of Marshalltown.

Mrs. Hickey was a resident of Story county for very close to fifty years, and she was highly esteemed in the circles where she was best known.
