PIONEER CALLED BY DEATH.

Mrs. J. T. Johnson Well Known at McCallsburg Dead.

McCallsburg, Aug. 21--Mrs. Joseph T. Johnson passed away Sunday, Aug. 9 at her home in Story City at the age of 60 years. Mrs. Johnson was an old settler of this community having lived for many years of a farm north of town, but five years ago they moved to Story City to make their home. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at St. Petri church, Story City, Rev. Anderson officiating. The pall bearers were most of the old neighbors of the family when they lived here. They were S. H. Twedt, Tom O. Johnson of this palce and Martin Ericson, B. K. Johnson, Ewen Nessa and Martin Jorgenson of Story City. Burial was made in the Roland cemetery. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, one daughter Mrs. Peter Lura of this place and a foster son Webster Johnson of Randall, two sisters Mrs. Severson of Sioux City and Mrs. Seymour of Randall and two brothers Jacob Jacobson and John Jacobson both from Nebraska. All of whom were here for the funeral with the exception of the latter who was unable to be here. Mrs. Johnson was a good friend and neighbor and highly respected by all who knew her and her family have the sympathy of the community in their sorrow.
