IRVEN M. GOODMANSON

Irven M. Goodmanson, 79, of Roland, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1981 at Bethany Manor in Story City.

He was born Oct. 7, 1901 north of Roland, the son of Ivor and Martha Goodmanson. On Dec. 7, 1921 he married Myrtle Wierson.

The couple farmed in Hardin County until 1941 when they moved to Roland. Mrs. Goodmanson was employed at the Marshall Canning Co. in Roland until 1955 and from 1955 until his retirement in 1968 was employed as custodian at Oak Hall, ISU.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, of Bethany Manor; one son, Robert of Citrus Grove, Calif.; three daughters, Ihlene Holland of Roland, Dorothy Strum of Roland, and Janet Hallauer of Ames; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church, Roland, with Pastor Everett Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Story City Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bethany Manor Chapel.

Friends may call at the Soderstrum Funeral Home, Roland, from Friday til time of service.
