Nevin L. Krentz, age 84, of Ames, passed away on October 31, 2018 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Born in Lancaster, PA on January 4, 1934, where he attended high school and college. Nevin was the son of Lloyd and Edith (Binkley) Krentz. He proudly serviced in the Air Force during the Korean War. Nevin was married to Shirley Hinerdeer on January 21, 1956, and they enjoyed a wonderful time touring the country in their RV, golfing, playing bridge, and supporting college sports and live theatre wherever they lived. In 1994, he retired as plant manager from Case New Holland after 38 years of service.

He is survived by is wife, Shirley; children: Karen (Mike) Linot of Grand Island, NE, Kristine (Christopher) Barto of Shell Knob, MO, Keith (Diane) of Cresco, IA, and Kurtis (Jill) of Wayzata, MN; 8 grandchildren: John, Joseph, Mikayla, Nicole, Alexis, Kaylie, Jon and Carter; a sister Janet (Eugene) Steffish; and brothers Jerry (Christine) and Wayne (Kathy).

A public visitation will be held from 5-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 Douglas Ave., Ames, Iowa. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bliss Cancer Center, 1111 Duff Ave., Ames, IA 50010 or the Israel Family Hospice House, 400 South Dakota Ave., Ames, Iowa 50014.
