DEATHS

Andrew O. Enderson

Funeral services for Andrew O. Enderson were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 20, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City with Pastor C. A. Gisselquist officiating. Chaplain M. C. Hagedorn brought a short message also.

Marvin Johnson, soloist, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art" accompanied by Mrs. Harold Olson, organist.

Pallbearers were Jerry Swenson, Jasper Madsen, Don Paulson, Tilford Enderson, Donald Hanson and Duane Paulson.

Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Andrew O. Enderson, son of Omen and Belinda Enderson, was born Sept. 9, 1888, in Mahaska County and died Friday morning, March 17, at Story City Bethany Manor.

He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in New Sharon, Iowa and confirmed in the Clear Lake and Ellsworth Lutheran Church of rural Jewell. He was an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran church for many years and served in various capacities in the church and community. For the past 15 years he has been a faithful member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City.

He received his education in the rural schools of Hamilton County, Iowa.

In 1917 he was united in marriage to Inga Fardal. They farmed south of Stanhope until they retired in 1956 and move to Story City.

In September 1971, he became a resident of Story City Bethany Manor.

Survivors include two sons, Orlin Enderson of Des Mones and Harold Enderson of Stanhope; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Nioma) Whalen and Mrs. Melvin (Ione) Sonerholm, both of Stanhope; 11 grandchildren; four great grandsons; three brothers and two sister, Thomas Enderson, Mrs. Isabelle Madson and Mrs. Franklin (Sara) Paulson, all of Story City; Rev. Jacob Enderson of Northfield and Isaac Enderson of Blue Earth, Minn. and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife in Nov. 1965; his parents, four sisters and one brother.
