Funeral Services For Mrs. H. M. Kahley
STORY CITY - Funeral services for Mrs. H. M. Kahley were held at 2 o'clock Sunday, Jan. 30 in Grace Evangelical United Brethren church with the pastor, W. D. Winter officiating.
Mrs. Alfred Jacobson served at the organ and Mrs. Robert Kenny sang "In Heavenly Love Abiding" an "The Lord's Prayer." Interment was in Story City cemetery.
Pall bearers were Donald Munsen, William, Robert an James Murray, Clarence DeYoung, Louis Wigen Jr.
Obituary
Evalyn Wigen Kahley, daughter of George O. and Margaret Wigen, was born in Ayrshire, Iowa December 4, 1898. She attended school at Ayrshire and lived at Eagle Grove, Iowa.
August 9, 1919 she was united in marriage to Dr. H. M. Kahley. To this union were born two children, both of whom survive the mother. Following their marriage, the couple lived for a time in Omaha, Nebr. In the fall of 1922, they moved to Story City where they have lived ever since. She had been closely associated with her husband in his dental office here and had many friends of the community of which she was a part.
Mrs. Kahley was baptized in the Lutheran faith but was member of Grace Evangelical United Brethren church of Story City. She was a member of the Ladies Aid society of her church and also of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Suffering a sudden stroke, she was removed to the local hospital and passed away early on the following morning, Jan. 26. She had reached the age of 56 years, one month and 22 days.
She is survived by her husband, two children, Major Wm. F. Kahley, with the U. S. Air Force, stationed in Africa and Rozella, Mrs. W. F. Robinson of Wichita, Kansas, six grandchildren, Jackie, Billie, Candy and Fritz Kahley and Sally and Becky Robinson; four sisters, Mrs. Serral Munsen and Mrs. Ed Lind, both of Story City, Mrs. W. R. Murray of Milford and Mrs. C. F. Larson of Kalamazoo, Mich., two brothers, Severt Wigen of Omaha, Nebr. and Louis Wigen of Ayrshire.
