Services Held at Story City For Mrs. Arthur Hovick

Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur Hovick were held Tuesday July 26, at 2 p. m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Rev. Harold T. Masted officiated at the services with a greeting being given by Rev. T. J. Alvestad. A prayer service was held at the Larson Funeral Home preceding the church service.

Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery. Casket bearers were John Rogee, Alvin Hovick, Lawrence Jacobson, Herschel Williams, Almon Larson and John Ose.

Obituary

Tena Hovick, daughter of Anna and Ole Larson was born October 11, 1887 in Illinois. A few years later the family moved to Calendar, Iowa.

On December 31, 1909 he was united in marriage to Arthur Hovick. Since their marriage the couple had farmed in the Story City community. In 1959 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Hovick, a devoted member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, died at Mary Greeley Hospital, Ames on Saturday July 23. She had been admitted to the hospital following a heart attack at her home. She was 72 years of age.

She is survived by her husband and eight children, Mrs. Olive Teig of Ellsworth, Mrs. Alvina Olson of Story City, John and Harold of Roland, Theroy of Ames, Raymond and Milo of Story City and Richard of Branson, Mo.

Thirty-two grandchildren and one great grandson also survive. She was preceded in death by two daughters and on brother.
