MRS. A. V. HEMSTOCK DIED EARLY TODAY
HAD BEEN ILL FOR NEARLY FIVE MONTHS--FUNERAL ON FRIDAY.
Mrs. Millie Hemstock, 53, wife of A. V. Hemstock died at her home on Fourth street at an early hour today after an illness covering a period of about 18 weeks.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at Central Presbyterian church, with her pastor Rev. George A. Lawton of the Methodist church in charge.
Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery under the auspices of the Nevada O. E. S., of which she was a long time and active member.
Mrs. Hemstock was taken ill the first day of September and was at once taken to Iowa sanitarium where she submitted to a major surgical operation. She remained there for weeks and about eight weeks ago suffered a stroke, after which she continued to grow weaker and there was little hope of her recovery held out.
About three weeks ago she was brought to her home in Nevada where she had since been tenderly cared for by members of the family.
Of her immediate family she leaves her husband Arthur V. Hemstock, three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Barker and Mrs. Ruth Moran of south of Nevada and Miss Bernice at home, while the one son, John Hemstock, is employed in Des Moines.
