Rites planned for Friday for Clar. Morfoot
Clarence Morfoot, 1233 H., Nevada, died at an Ames nursing home at 7:45 a.m. today. He was 76 years of age.
Services are planned for the Ryan Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Friday with burial in the Perry, Ia. Cemetery.
Prominent in Nevada business circles for a number of years, Mr. Morfoot retired because of ill health in 1948.
The son of Charles and Elizabeth Morfoot, he was a native of Perry. He attended grade school in Perry, but graduated from the Nevada High School in 1912 after the family moved here to take over a furniture and Undertaking business.
On April 18, 1931 he was married to Betsy Jacobson of Nevada at the Nevada Lutheran Church.
He became associated with Morfoot and Morfoot Furniture and Undertaking and remained active in the business until 1948.
Mr. Morfoot was a former Rotarian, was a 50 year Mason and a Past Master of the Nevada Masonic Lodge.
Since an accident in 1951 Morfoot had been an invalid. He had been bedfast for the past six years.
Survivors include his wife, Betsy, a daughter Mrs. Grace Emenegger of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
