Funeral Service For Mrs. George Eilers Saturday Afternoon

Funeral services for Mrs. George Eilers, 415 J avenue, who passed away suddenly Wednesday at 11 a. m. at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p. m. at Central Presbyterian church with the Rev. James D. Ransom officiating. The body will rest at the Morfoot Funeral Home until time for the last rites.

Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Theresa Swanson Eilers was born in Mansfield, Ill. Oct. 11, 1888, a daughter of Frans and Augusta Swanson and was at the time of her passing 59 years, three months and three days. The family came to Story County in 1896, living first north east of Ames on a farm and later for many years in Nevada.

Mrs. Eilers was taken ill on Monday with a heart attack and was taken to the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, where after showing signs of improvement, suddenly passed away yesterday forenoon.

Mrs. Eilers is survived by her husband, George Eilers and two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Clark (Hazel) and Margaret. She also leaves one granddaughter, Marla Kay Clark and five brothers, Thurston Swanson of Des Moines, Fred and A. N. Swanson of Champaign, Ill., Arthur Swanson of Nevada, and John, who has not been located as yet. Her oldest sister, Mrs. Ella Brown*, passed away last August in Inglewood, Calif.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Ellen Bertha Henrie Swanson was born 22 August 1869 in Sweden and died in Los Angeles County, California on 19 June 1947 according to her death record. She was married to Frederick W. Born (not Brown as stated) on 30 August 1899 in Ames, Story County, Iowa.
