Rites in Story City For Lars Eide, 91
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Immanuel Lutheran church in Story City, following a prayer service in the Henderson Funeral home for Lars Eide, 91, who died at his home in Story City on Friday, April 29, as the result of a stroke, which he suffered the week previous.
Rev. A. O. Skibsrud was the officiating pastor and special music was provided by LeRoy Hill, who sang two numbers at the church. Interment took place in the Story City cemetery. Casket bearers were L. B. Brattebo, C. F. Johnson, F. W. Densmore, I. J. Hill, Ed Peterson and Louis Danielson.
Obituary
Lars L. Eide was born April 12, 1858, in Winneshiek county, Iowa. In June of 1880 he was united in marriage to Julia Elizabeth Thompson. To this union were born eight children, Martin and Lewis, Bertha Paulson, Minnie Paulson and Rebecca Sylvester all of Brainard, Minn., Tom of Estherville and Ben and Mrs. Ellen Bailey of Marshalltown.
His wife died October 19, 1904. After a number of years' residence in Brainard, Minn. Mr. Eide returned to Iowa in 1911. On March 5, 1911, he married Malinda Lewison of Story City, where they lived the remainder of the their lives. Mrs. Eide passed away on Aug. 13, 1943.
Preceding him in death, also was a son, a daughter and two brothers.
Survivors
Survivors besides his children are stepchildren Edward Lewison of Engelwood, Colo., Burt Lewison of Des Moines, Theodore Lewison of New Hampton and Miss Ollie Lewison of Story City, one sister, Bertha Handeland of Huxley, also grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
