FUNERAL OF MR. DICKSON

Maxwell Pioneer Was Mourned By Many.

Special to the Journal.

Maxwell, Sept. 28.--The community was shocked Monday morning when the news was given out that Norman W. Dickson had died during the night. Mr. Dickson had been in usual health throughout the day and with his wife had spent the day at Des Moines with their sons and in the evening they both attended the services at the Church of Christ. During the services he felt sick but held out till he returned to his home where he got worse and a doctor was called and after medical aid it was thought he was better. Mrs. Dickson stepped out for a moment and when she returned she went to see how he was and found he had passed on to his reward.

Mr. Dickson was a pioneer resident of Maxwell, owned and conducted the Commercial Bank. He was a good citizen, always looking to the best of the community. He was a faithful member of the Methodist Church. His funeral was conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church. Rev. H. N. Smith conducted the services, assisted by Rev. H. D. Robinson of the Presbyterian church Rev. De Loss Marken of the Church of Christ. Interment was in the Maxwell cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and three sons, Charles W., Fred L. and Lawrence L., all of Des Moines, one brother, Joseph E. Dickson of Collins; two sisters, Mrs. Emma L. Hall of Chicago and Mrs. Hattie E. Capwell of Elmwood, Nebr. The church was banked with beautiful offerings.

Among the friends from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Addison, Mrs. Bert Vinsel, Mrs. Maggie King, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Flickinger, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Tipton and Frank Boardman of Nevada; Mrs. Mary Oxley of Cambridge; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Tilton of Collins; Mrs. C. F. Hatcher of Ames.
