Last Rites For Amy L. Chitty Held on Monday
Funeral services for Amy L. Chitty were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. Wm. A. Knight of the Highland Park Christian church of Des Moines, officiating.
James Crawford at the organ played appropriate music at the opening and close of the service.
The casket bearers were Art Couser, Clarence Hilburn, Andrew Picht, Cliffor Picht and Clark Stookey.
Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.
Mrs. Chitty was born April 7, 1891, in Marshall county, a daughter of James and Jennie Holcomb. She had been a resident of Des Moines since 1945.
On Feb. 25, 1914 she was united in marriage to John L. Chitty who preceded her in death in 1947.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Fernald.
Surviving are three sons, James of Colo, Joe of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Bernice of Pasadena, Calif.; three daughters, Dorothy, Mrs. Morrell Shear of Hampton, Lois, Mrs. Robert Harlow of Des Moines and Helen, Mrs. George Hoover of Pasadena, Calif.
She also leaves three brothers Chet Holcomb of Kanawha; Emmet of Indianola and Marvin of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. James Johnstone of Guckeen, Min., Mrs. Harry Dickenson and Mrs. Frank Critchett, both of Seattle, Wash.
